The Neemrana
Music Academy
With the growing interest in vocal Western classical music The Neemrana Music Foundation opened the Neemrana Music Academy in 2018. Starting with a small group of aspiring Indian singers, we have now graduated to a three-level academy that caters to talent at its different stages. This progressive journey also motivates the artistes.
Ensemble : The ensemble is group singing, to learn techniques in Western classical music and train the ears by singing in harmonies. It consists of a 2 hr long session once a week on Saturdays. The ensemble occasionally participates in choir events for which extra rehearsals are scheduled.
Intermediary Program: For promising singers who also are part of the Ensemble. The package includes: – participation in the ensemble – additional smaller group sessions for technique (10 per year) – individual singing classes (5 per year)
Specialisation Program: This program is for singers who are aspiring to be soloists in opera. This package includes: -participation in the ensemble -sessions with a pianist(10 half-hours per year) -singing solo classes with a voice coach (20 hour long sessions per year) -participation in master classes and professional workshops with international experts
There are regular concerts and performances and, as professionals, our artistes are given a stipend. Our artistes have been able to reach international standards with these inputs provided to them. Since 2008, The Neemrana Music Foundation has sponsored the studies of 16 young Indian artistes in France.
